Struma ovarii accounts for less than 5% of mature teratomas. The coexistence of struma
ovarii and serous cystadenoma has been rarely reported. Struma ovarii usually occurs
in an older population most commonly reported in women aged 40s to 60s, with many
patients being euthyroid at time of diagnosis. Struma ovarii is difficult to diagnose
based on clinical exam or imaging, but the diagnosis should be considered in a young
woman with an adnexal mass.
